It's all happening, people! More and more details and casting news for the third Thor movie, Thor: Ragnarok,
are being released. Though the movie won't be out for quite a while, we
already know about the cast, the director, the release date, and some
exciting Hulk-related news. Here's everything we know about the upcoming
sequel, and if you already know all of this, perhaps we can teach you a
few things about the Avengers: Infinity War movies!
1The Cast
Of course, Chris Hemsworth will reprise his role as Thor, the mythical Norse god. Cate Blanchett has joined the movie,
though we don't know anything about her role yet. Marvel has reportedly
been on the hunt for a "badass female," and the Oscar winner definitely
fits that description. Also confirmed: Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Jaimie
Alexander as Lady Sif, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Karl Urban as Skurge, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, and Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster.
Mark Ruffalo is set to appear as Bruce Banner/The Hulk in the new film. In fact, the scientist and his big, green alter ego might even get a chance to meet.
Marvel President Kevin Feige confirmed that the word Ragnarok "means
essentially the end of all things," which isn't a great forecast. The
film is an essential piece of the studio's Phase Three plan, but we
don't have many details about what will happen. We do know that Ragnarok is an actual character in the comics — a supervillain, in fact.
5Shooting Is Underway
Filming began the first week of July, and star Hemsworth has already provided a look at the set!
