Christmas 'ruined' as children left empty handed when online firm fails to deliver

Furious parents said their festive season had been “ruined” as an online toy firm left their kids empty handed on Christmas Day.
SavviBuy customers claim orders didn’t arrive – despite the firm’s assurance all gifts would arrive by December 23.
It came after hundreds of customers reported problems with getting their money back and frustrating attempts to contact the company.
We reported how one angry customer asked for a refund and SavviBuy replied: “Lol” (internet slang for “laughing out loud”).
But the Rochdale-based firm claimed it was being “harassed” by parents unhappy with the service.
Members of a 2,600-strong Facebook group called Unsatisfied SavviBuy Customers blasted the company for its shoddy service.
Others revealed they’ve still not received gifts worth hundreds each.
Sally Titmus ordered a Bose wireless speaker for her son.
But she said: “Every time I contacted them they promised it would be delivered by Friday, December 23.
“Well it’s now Christmas Eve and no delivery.
“Thank you Savvi Buy. You have really ruined a lot of people’s Christmas. Hope you feel proud of yourselves.
“And you are still taking orders and people’s money knowing you have no intention of delivering.
“You are scum at the lowest level.”
Sarah-jane Harris wrote: “I would like to thank SavviBuy for ruining Christmas for me and my family.
“I’m absolutely devastated and holding back the tears! Me and my husband work so damn hard to buy our boys their presents and you decide not to deliver their main present.
Cozmo the robot
One mum had ordered Cozmo the robot
“And we can’t afford to go out and replace it as it could take weeks to get our money back.”
And Dave Pearson said: “Absolutely disgusted by this company.
“I ordered an item of £250+ value for Christmas on December 4, paid for it that day, received an email to say delivery the 12th.
“We are now at the 24th and still no delivery, even though I received an email to say it would be delivered yesterday and now I need to go out and spend another £250 on a replacement.
“Absolutely disgusting the way people are treated, you ring the customer service and it puts you to voicemail whereby nobody returns your call.”
Caroline McCarthy-Punton ordered a Hatchimal toy for her eight-year-old daughter.
But she said: “I prayed it would turn up today but at this stage it’s highly unlikely.
Father Christmas is on his way
Father Christmas wasn't able to deliver everything
“I hugely regret not reordering elsewhere. I have picked up a couple of small things today in an effort to make up for it and will now have to write a letter from Santa tonight explaining why he has not delivered.
“It’s devastating!! She is a great girl and really wanted this gift.”
Meanwhile SavvigBuy worker Edward Tharne hit out at the Facebook page set up to criticise the company.
Thawne said: “This page has done nothing but antagonise and harass the business and our staff incessantly and relentlessly.”
SavviBuy did not respond to request for comment.
But in an earlier statement a spokesman said: “We appreciate that some of our customers have not yet received their purchases, and for this we are deeply apologetic; however, it has been confirmed as of yesterday evening, by all of our third party re-sellers that they have all had their stocks delivered into the UK, and will be duly dispatching all orders within 24/48 hours.
“Accordingly we at SavviBuy would like to confirm that our customers will be receiving their purchases by Friday 23rd December 2016 at the very latest.”
