Nigeria Youth Congress holding on the 10th of august(read for more details)

Nigeria Youth Congress believes that sustainable development, peace and security are inextricably linked and youth have important role to play in the establishment of lasting security. We have come to realisation in our society of today that youth, especially young men, are a threat to the security of the state. Many of these combatants are youth but I can assure you that vast majority of youth are not violent. Most atimes youth are often among conflict’s first victims and I can assure the society that the Youth can lead as champions of peace in the state•
Often time some many youth out there want to wage peace, not war,but these youths lack the influence, capacity and courage they need to operate effectively.
Nigeria Youth Congress believes that with right support, young people can build peace, foster reconciliation and achieve democratic governance. We invite the representatives of governments, donor organizations and youth of Cross river State to support these valuable event. Fine words are worthy, but actions and support drive progress.
We want to use the programme to intimate the youth on the guiding Principles on Young People’s Participation in tackling insecurity that has become the problem of the day in Cross River state•
